VAWA Benefits for Crime Domestic Violence Victims; U Nonimmigrant Cases
Special Immigrant VAWA(*) Self Petition: (Form I-360):
$3000 Flat Legal Services Fee. This fee are calculated based on a minimum of 20 hours spent on your case. If my work time exceeds these amounts, I charge for further time at the rate of $150 per hour, billable in one minute increments. If I use less than the predicted time, that fee is credited towards future legal services fees on your case, or is kept as a minimum flat fee, as applicable.
This is an application filed by a person without permanent legal status in the United States who has suffered abuse from a United State Citizen of Lawful Permanent Resident husband, wife, parent, son, or daughter. We have a preliminary consultation to see if you are eligible for this benefit. We fill out the petition. I prepare the supporting documents. If applicable, we have extensive conversations about the problems in your family relationship. I help prepare your personal statement and the statements of other people in support of your case. If applicable, I contact law enforcement, social workers, psychologists, doctors, and anyone else who may have evidence in support of your case.
U-Visa Nonimmigrant Status Application (I-918):
$3000 Flat Fee ($4500 Flat Fee if filed with Waiver). This fee are calculated based on a minimum of 20 hours spent on your case (30, if with a waiver). If my work time exceeds these amounts, I charge for further time at the rate of $150 per hour, billable in one minute increments. If I use less than the predicted time, that fee is credited towards future legal services fees on your case, or is kept as a minimum flat fee, as applicable.
This is an application for victims of certain crimes that, if approved, makes the applicant eligible for work authorization and permission to remain in the United States for an indefinite period. U-Visa interim relief is for persons who have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as a result of having been a victim of violent criminal activity. We have a preliminary consultation to see if you are eligible for this benefit. I prepare the supporting documents. If applicable, we have extensive conversations about the the way you were harmed by the criminal activity and how you have helped law enforcement in the prosecution of the perpetrator. I help prepare your personal statement and the statements of other people in support of your case. I contact law enforcement in order to get a statement from them describing how you have helped in the prosecution of the perpetrator. If applicable, I contact social workers, psychologists, doctors, and anyone else who may have evidence in support of your case.
